The old part of Lovran is situated on a small peninsula; during the Middle Ages it was surrounded by massive walls, of which only the city gate, the stubica next to the old sea port and the imposing defense tower of the 13th century remain. In the main square of Lovran there is the 12th century church of St. George, which is known above all for its unique Gothic frescoes. Next to it there is a bell tower - one of the trademarks of the town. Another two places worth visiting in Lovran are the church of St. John the Baptist from the 14th century and the Church of the Holy Trinity in the old town. Since the last century, Lovran is known as a health resort, specializing in the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system. The two main beaches Peharovo and Kvarner are located in close proximity to the town's hotels and villas. These beaches in Lovran are covered with fine pebbles, there are small sandbanks and rocky areas, both beaches have the Blue Flag of UNESCO for ecological purity and are equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. There is another pebble beach Moscenicka Draga, which is considered one of the most picturesque beaches in the Bay of Kvarner, 5 km south of the city.
