Sunny Beach is located just 3 km from St. Vlas and is one of the largest and most popular Bulgarian resorts. In addition to beautiful beaches and developed infrastructure, it offers its tourists visiting many interesting attractions located in the vicinity of the resort. Just at a distance of 3 km from Sunny Beach is the ancient town of Nessebar. The city of Nessebar is located in an amazingly beautiful place called the Nessebar Peninsula. The city is divided into old and new parts. The old part is a masterpiece of architecture and an open-air museum, perfectly preserved to this day. Nessebar is included in the list of world cultural heritage and is under the protection of UNESCO. The city is not only one of the oldest on the Black Sea coast in Bulgaria, but also one of the oldest cities in Europe. Here are the remains of 40 churches. Some of them have been preserved almost in their original form. The oldest basilica of St. Sofia" was built in the 5th-6th centuries. Another open-air museum is the city of Sozopol, a former Greek colony. It is located about 70 km from Sunny Beach. Like Nessebar, Sozopol is divided into old and new parts. The main interest is the old part of the city. There are about 180 residential buildings dated from the middle of the 18th to the beginning of the 19th centuries. Ropotamo Nature Reserve is located 12 km south of Sozopol. It is one of the most visited in Bulgaria. Excursions from different parts of the country are regularly organized here. The reserve is located along the Ropotamo River, which is often compared to the Amazon. It consists of several internal reserves: "Snake Island", "Arkutino", "Water Lilies", "Sea Wormwood" and the Stamopoulo swamp.
